Mercedes-Benz has revealed a new hybrid engine for the E-Class, a 48-volt mild hybrid system.

The system is comprised of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 220kW of power and 400Nm of torque. The 48-volt alternator adds 10kW and 150Nm of power.

The two-door model will reach 0 to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds, on to a top speed of 250km/h.

Along with the new engines there are more paint colours, trim bits, comfort control, SMS notification for parking damage occurs, a wellness and fitness program, ambience lighting, massage and fragrance options.
