The Audi Q7 e-tron will arrive locally early next year and is currently the only diesel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle on the market.

It offers a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 190kW of power and 600Nm of torque along with an electric motor which contributes 94kW of power and 350Nm of torque, producing a combined output of 275kW of power and 700Nm of torque. The Q7 e-tron will reach 0-100km/h in just 6.2 seconds.

Safety features will include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active cruise control, lane assist blind spot monitoring, and a semi-self-driving traffic jam assistance feature.

Fuel consumption is rated at 1.9 l/100km with a 17.3kWh battery pack, enough to reach 56 kilometres of range. From a wall outlet a completely discharged Q7 e-tron would take around 10 hours for a full charge.

Pricing starts from $97,800 (before on-road costs) and up to $155,511 (before on-road costs) in Australia.
