Revealed at the Detroit Motor Show, the 2018 Lexus LS500 replaces its predecessor for the first time in a decade. The LS utilises a similar platform to the new LC Coupe, just stretched and expanded.

Although it has a “500” badge, unlike the LC500 the LS500 will not have an eight-cylinder engine inside. Instead, there will be an all-new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine putting out 310kW of power and 600Nm of torque. At 5235mm long, the new LS aims to compete with the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and it might do quite well with its 12.3-inch infotainment system and efficient 10-speed automatic gearbox.
