Felipe Massa has been announced to participate in season five of Formula E. Massa will race for Venturi Formula E. Massa states βIβm very happy to be joining the Venturi Formula E Team and the ABB FIA formula E Championship, which has become a magnificent competition in such a short space of timeβ.
β’ Mercedes Expand Into Formula E
Mercedes AMG F1 announced on Instagram earlier in the week that Mercedes will expand their presence in the Motorsport world into Formula E as βMercedes EQ Formula E Teamβ. Formula E has gained significant traction in recent times and with a greater focus on the motorsport code, Formula 1 will have to take note of it, particularly ahead of its pivotal 2021 season.
β’ Alonso Critical of McLaren Straight Line Speed:
Fernando Alonso has highlighted straight-line speed as an area of concern for McLaren after the Spanish GP which saw Alonso struggle in overtaking. Alonso was aware he spent βhalf of the race behind Leclercβ and stated that it was βdifficultβ. Despite this area of weakness, Alonso is pleased with the progress the team has made last weekend, as he states, βWe are, I think, on the right directionβ.
