Welcome to the weekly roundup of everything Formula 1! Here you will find a summary of the biggest news and announcements every week in the F1 world:
β’ Daniil Kvyat To Ferrari:
Daniil Kvyat has bounced back after being released by Toro Rosso, being picked up by Ferrari as a development driver. Many find this news perplexing considering Kvyatβs rough history with lead Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel. Many others did not expect to see Kvyat back in Formula 1, however being 23 years old, there is still room for the Russian to grow.
β’ Sergey Sirotkin To Williams To Partner With Stroll:
Williams Martini Racing confirmed via Twitter the announcement of Sergey Sirotkin as their second lead driver to Partner Lance Stroll. The 22 year old Russian made a late bid to notch a Williams seat after build-up to Robert Kubica getting another drive in Formula 1 with Williams.
β’ Robert Kubica To Williams As Development Driver:
Williams also have confirmed via Instagram that Robert Kubica will be signed on as a development racer, placing him behind Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin. Many are dissatisfied with this decision from Williams, feeling that the team values paid drivers over arguably greater talent, which has potentially costed Robert Kubica his last chance to drive in Formula 1.
β’ Formula 1 and Post-It Note Maker 3M Logo Dispute:
Formula 1 is allegedly on course to dispute with Post-It note maker 3M, after it has been found the new-era logo for F1 bears a resemblance to a pan-European trademark registered by the American corporation. Stay tuned for more details.
