β€’ 2018 Car Reveal Dates
A number of teams have confirmed the date they will unveil their respective 2018 models for the F1 season coming. So far McLaren have confirmed the β€œMCL33” will be revealed on February 23rd; Toro Rosso on February 25th; and the Mercedes’ β€˜W09’ on February 22nd.
β€’ New Car Weight Information for 2019:
New information has been reportedly released regarding the distribution of car and driver weights for the 2019 season, with F1 driver and car weights are to be split. The F1 Commission has planned to adopt a new minimum weight for 80kg for F1 drivers, with drivers below this weight required to carry ballast to meet the requirement.
β€’ McLaren Sponsorship Rumours:
McLaren are rumoured to announce new sponsors in the coming weeks. Zak Brown, Executive Director for McLaren, has stated that the new Renault partnership has generated new sponsorship interest in the team.
β€’ 2018 Final Year of Renault Construction:
Cyril Abiteboul, Managing Director of Renault, has gone on record saying that the team’s three-year construction phase will come to an end in 2018. Prior to the 2016 season, Renault acquired the Lotus team, and proceeded to return to F1 as a works team.
