► We take out the Model X around town and test the “Enhanced Autopilot”, which includes a $7000 upgrade from the normal autopilot. The system didn’t seem to pick up islands on the side of the road, hence why I had to steer the wheel away – also, after 2-3 minutes of driving the car beeps loudly and forces you to put your hands on the wheel for a few seconds (to make sure you’re not sleeping), which you will see happen late in the video. We did notice that in bumper to bumper, it wasn’t perfect at detecting cars that would swoop in at the last minute, but overall a decent system that aides driving, it isn’t ready for pure self-serving.
