• 2018 Car Reveal Dates
More dates have been set for car reveals ahead of the 2018 season. Sauber have confirmed the official launch of the C37 is set for the 20th of February. Additionally, Renault have confirmed the RS18 will launch on the 20th of February as well.
• Alonso confirmed for World Endurance Championship
Toyota Gazoo has confirmed Fernando Alonso will join its driver line-up for the 2018-19 World Endurance Championship. Toyota Gazoo will participate in eight rounds of the 2018=19 season, including the Le-Mans 24 Hours. This is the latest of Alonso’s ventures outside of F1, which saw an impressive participation in the Indianapolis 500.
• Mercedes Offer Wehrlein F1 Test Driver Role:
Toto Wolff has confirmed that former Sauber driver, Pascal Wehrlein, will be a Mercedes test-driver in 2018. Wolff has stated Wehrlein will continue to benefit from the support of the Mercedes driver programme.
• More Details On Former Honda-McLaren Relationship:
More information has emerged regarding the dynamic of the relationship between McLaren and Honda. Honda has stated that it welcomes working with Scuderia Toro Rosso, as McLaren has been cited as often ignoring Honda’s advances and opinions. Honda has stated that McLaren runs itself ‘as a business’ whilst Toro Rosso is more ‘racing-oriented’.
