Revealed at Geneva Motor Show recently, the Toyota Yaris will be receiving a major upgrade with some serious pimping courtesy of Gazoo Racing.
The new Yaris hot hatch is powered by a 1.8-litre supercharged four-cylinder petrol, powered by a six-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front wheels. According to GRMN, a turbocharger wouldn’t fit, which is why they opted for a supercharger. Makes sense right? Definitely not..
The Yaris GRMN will have more than 155kW, making it more powerful than the following rival hot hatches:
– Volkswagen Polo GTI: 141kW
– Ford Fiesta ST: 134kW (147kW for new generation)
– Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ: 147kW
– Holden Astra RS-V: 147kW
So far, there will only be 100 units per country, and confirmation on these countries is still uncertain.
