Talking Torque

2018 Lexus LS500h Revealed at Geneva Motor Show

The Lexus LS500h has been unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show, sharing the same hybrid drivetrain as the recently revealed LC500h.

Under the bonnet is a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 with 220kW of power (264kW total hybrid power) and 350Nm of torque, which is supplemented by two electric motors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission which has apparently been tuned to deliver the feel of a 10-speed gearbox.

The LS500h is able to reach 100km/h in 5.4 seconds. In comparison to the LS500, which features a 310kW/600Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, the LS500h has only 46kW less power, and is slower to 100km/h by 0.6 seconds. Electric mode will be able to reach speeds of up to 140km/h.

There will be a 12.3 inch infotainment screen, 24-inch HUD, noise cancellation, surround sound, glass trim pieces and a plethora of other luxury features for the sedan.

The LS500 and LS500h will both make their way to Australia in the first quarter of 2018.
